Camp Futures

Camp Futures

If school is out, Camp Futures is in!

A social skills based day camp where children ages 3 to 18 will participate in a variety of activities each week, allowing them to enjoy a day of fun while meeting new friends.  ABA trained interventionists will guide children through activities that will promote social initiation, cooperation, and interaction.

We offer camps in our clinics during summer, winter and spring breaks, as well as during select school closure days. Camp Futures will be open for as few as four participants.  Examples of our weekly themes include:

Week 1: Construction, Exploration, and Imagination - Cooperative Play With Peers
Children work together towards a common goal that requires mutual exchange to build the scenario.  They work jointly building and navigating through obstacle courses, mazes, forts, and scavenger hunts.

Week 2: Up, Up, and Away - Asking Peers To Play
Children greet each other and establish methods to initiate new friendships.  Through activities such as exploring with colored bubbles and making kites and other flying objects, they will have a great foundation for seeking social interaction with others.

Week 3: Moving and Grooving - Making Friends
From rock bands to kids bop, children will dance and have fun with music.  Trained interventionists will guide children through instrument making while teaching valuable steps for how to make friends with others.

Week 4: Splish Splash - Playing Social Games With Peers
Children play social games with peers and work side by side as a team while enjoying various water games, crafts, and activities.  They will end the week with happy memories of fun times and a foundation for creating more social interactions.

In addition to each week’s thematic activities, children are provided free-choice time and given the opportunity to choose from a variety of options so they can interact with other children with similar interests. Some of these choices include video games, board games, computers, painting and basic building.
